Volatile energy prices
Fair and transparent prices are important to us. Since January 2021, we have seen rising or volatile energy prices, which influence the production costs of many manufacturing companies with locations in Europe in one way or another.
Since the development of energy costs, whether gas, oil or electricity, is not predictable, we, as Suhner ABRASIVE, have considered a concept for surcharges on invoices based on a European energy index.
With this concept of surcharges on bills, we avoid a general across-the-board price increase and only the real additional costs are passed on - transparently and fairly.

This is how it works -
a calculation example:
- Reference is the index value of January 2022: 132
- Index in November: 166, which corresponds to an increase of 26%.
- In the model shown on the left, this 26% drives the costs in the Suhner production facilities by 5%.
- Surcharge in the model on customer invoices: 19% (fictitious value) of 26% = 5%.
(Current (April 2024) surcharge: X (effective value) of 16.0% = 1.44%)
As a global company, we produce in countries with massively rising energy costs. Corresponding increases are reflected in your bills. The good news is that if these prices fall again, we pass this on to you immediately. A fair and sustainable solution for everyone.
